March 2025 was a big month for the evolution of social media and digital marketing right here in Arizona.
One of the key highlights was the Borrell Phoenix 2025 Local Advertising Conference, held from March 9–12 at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism in downtown Phoenix.
This event brought together media leaders, advertisers, and digital strategists to focus on one thing: how local businesses can survive and grow using digital content and social media.
The conversation wasn’t generic, it was about real challenges:
- Declining traditional media revenue
- The shift toward social media-first content
- The importance of hyper-local storytelling
- Monetizing audiences through digital platforms
At the same time, small business owners across Arizona also had access to a statewide webinar hosted by the Arizona Commerce Authority on March 4, focused specifically on:👉 when and where to post on social media for maximum reach.
This shows something important:
March 2025 wasn’t just about events—it marked a shift.
Local businesses are no longer asking if they should use social media… they’re trying to figure out how to use it better and actually make money from it.
Phoenix is no longer behind in the digital space. From conferences to workshops, the message is clear: social media is now the backbone of local business growth.
And the businesses that learn how to use it strategically are the ones that are going to win.
